Iceland: Result "Söngvakeppnin 2016" - Semi-Final 1

The first Semi-Final of the Icelandic national selection "Söngvakeppnin 2016" took place yesterday in Reykjavik. Six contestants were in the battle to get one of three tickets to the national final on 20th February 2016. The audience voted for their favorites. The show was hosted by Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir & Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir.

  1. Greta Salóme - "Raddirnar"
  2. Hjörtur Traustason & Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir - "Hugur minn er"
  3. Ingólfur Þórarinsson - "Fátækur námsmaður"
  4. The Band Eva - "Ég sé þig"
  5. Karlotta Sigurðardóttir - "Óstöðvandi"
  6. Sigga Eyrún - "Kreisí"



Three other candidates will qualify in next weeks second Semi-Final. One of the six acts, which haven't already qualified to the national final on 20th February 2016, will win a wild card. The winner will be chosen after next weeks shows.

  • 06.02.2016 - Semi-Final 1
  • 13.02.2016 - Semi-Final 2
  • 20.02.2016 - National Final

Maria Olafs represented Iceland at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest this year in Vienna with the song "Unbroken", but she faidl to qualiy to the Eurovision final.

The winner of "Söngvakeppnin 2016" will compete in the second half of the first Semi-Finals on 10th May 2016 in the Globen Arena in Stockholm. Who do you want to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016?
