Hello guys, first of all gratulations that you are one of the qualified participants for the Swiss national selection “Die Entscheidungsshow”.
How does it feel to be part of the national selection with the song "Disque d'or"?
Kaceo: Not being qualified was disconcerting. But being requalified was very disconcerting. Now we feel happy but tired, lots of works and no time to play music! But it is fun and a really good experience.
Who had the idea that you could participate in the Swiss national selection and who decided "Disque d'or"?Kaceo: Most part of this is due to our singer, but it is a democratic decision. Drinking on a Sunday evening can have unexpected consequences! "Disque d’or" is about the music production and broadcast industry. We found it interesting to inject our song in that circuit, to observe what was going to happen and learn from it. To be perfectly honest, we didn’t think we could even be pre-selected.
What is the message of "Disque d'or"?
Kaceo: The main topic of the song is the hypersexualization of the music industry and our schizophrenic puritanism between a sanitized speech but yet voyeur shows. The original song (video below) has a cynical and crude approach, putting explicit words on what is usually implicitly shown. As requested by the Swiss television, we prepared another version. In the end, we changed about 50% of the lyrics to be ESC-compliant in this new 99% irony-free version. As a consequence, we rapidly prepared another video, 99% scenario-free that you can now watch here.
Can you tell us something about the beginning of your career?
Kaceo: We started gigs in 2013. In 2015 we released two EPs, “Ne pas jeter” in January and “Déchets spéciaux” in September (By the way, you can download our tracks for free, it’s Creative Commons). We released two videos “Ar-Men” and “Disque d’or”.
What are you expecting in the national selection “Die Entscheidungsshow”, are you excited?
Kaceo: Yes we are, and it is great to see how a TV show is set up.

Are you Eurovision fans?
Kaceo: Eurovision is a good way to discover different musical way of thinking and different artist. We are not real big fans but we like this diversity and the opportunity given by this show. It is really nice to have access to all those European artiste, because actually we are more saturated by formatted artist and music who trust TV and radio (Those we are speaking about in our song).
Which are your favorite Eurovision songs and what is your favorite from Swiss entries?
Kaceo: Arg, the five of us can’t agree on the answer! ;-))
What are your first Eurovision memories?
Kaceo: Céline Dion, ABBA, Lordi.. Eurovision is a big show full of different colors and lights. It's alway fun watching it :)
What are your plans for 2016 beside the Swiss national selection, are you working on a album?
Kaceo: Yes we are! We plan to compose new songs, and records our first full lenght album! If we are in Stockholm this will probably be delayed a bit! But this is one of our main objective for 2016! And having lots of fun… also… this is our objective for life!
If people outside Switzerland never heared about Kaceo before – what should they know about you?
Kaceo: We can have fun and speak about serious topic. We are coming from different musical styles: ska, balkanic, metal, rock, songwriting, folk. And this mess creates Kaceo on stage. You really have to come and see KACEO on stage (knowing french could be a little +, but if you need energy and fun it is not necessary). And we are now composing new songs and look forward to getting absolutely live on stage next spring (no more playback)! We really love live performing and share good moment with the public!
Why should the Swiss audience vote for your song to represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2016?
Kaceo: Because our song is in a Swiss language (only for this reason). Do not think about singing performance or choreography. Also because we never went to Sweden and we do not have enough money to go there on our own!
Do you have a message for “Join Us on Eurovision” readers and your fans?
Kaceo: Thank you to make it real! Be happy, enjoy life, share good music and listen to our music! If you come in Geneva, let’s have a drink together!
