Hello Erna, hello Magnus, first of all gratulations that you are one of the qualified participants for the Icelandic national selection “Söngvakeppnin 2016”.
How does it feel to be part of national selection with the song "Ótöluð orð"?
Erna & Magnús: It's so much fun. Everything is so big and professional.
Who had the idea that you could participate in the Icelandic national selection and who decided "Ótöluð orð"?
Erna & Magnús: Actually it was originally Erna's mother's idea to submit a track to Eurovision. Later on we had this melody wich we really liked and thought would be fun to submit to Eurovision.
What is the message of "Ótöluð orð"?
Erna & Magnús: When you lose the one you love into the hope of better life, you still hold on to the chance of going back.
Can you tell us something about the beginning of your career?
Erna & Magnús: Well Eurovision is the beginning of our career. We started writing together a year ago but haven't published any of our music before so Eurovision will kickstart our career :)
Who had the idea for the collaboration?
Erna & Magnús: We had the idea. We are a couple.
What are you expecting in the national selection “Söngvakeppnin 2016”, are you excited?
Erna & Magnús: We are expecting a fun and an exciting show. We are so excited and can't wait to perform on stage.
How do you prepare yourself for the show?
Erna & Magnús: We drink a lot of hot milk with honey and watch Icelandic TV shows.
Are you Eurovision fans?
Erna & Magnús: Every Icelander is a Eurovision fan :-))
Which are your favorite Eurovision songs and what is your favorite from Icelandic entries?
Erna & Magnús: Our favorite Eurovision songs are last year's Monster Like Me (Norway) and Goodbye to Yesterday(Estonia). Our favorite Icelandic entry is Jónsi's Heaven in 2004
What is your first Eurovision memory?
Magnús: When my mother didn't allow me to vote for Lordi's Hard Rock Hallelujah in 2006
Erna: When I was little, I voted for Iceland several times before I realized that you can't vote for your own country
What kind of music do you like personally?
Erna & Magnús: Everything that sparks strong emotions or makes you think.
Who are Erna and Magnus as private persons?
Magnús: Erna is a person who can talk to anyone about anything. I think I've never seen her awkward. She is a talker and a thinker.
Erna: Magnús is the reliable guy with dumb humor. He is the kind of guy that could eat anything as long as it has enough dressing.
What are your plans for 2016 beside the Icelandic national selection, are you working on a album?
Erna & Magnús: We are always working on an album, whereas music is pretty much our life. We hope to release an album soon.
What are your wishes for the future? Erna & Magnús: To be able to live as musicans
Why should the Icelandic audience vote for your song to represent Iceland at Eurovision 2016?
Erna & Magnús: Because we will sincerely perform it for all of Europe and make Iceland proud.
