ESC 2014: Conchita is the 'Eurovision Princess 2014'

WINNER Eurovision 2014 - Conchita Wurst (Austria)

It was a fabulous night, and the winner in the end was a woman from Austria called Conchita Wurst. With a perfect staging she performed her 'Rise Like A Phoenix' and got votes from all over Europe even from the countries she got most of criticism in forehand - Russia (5 points), Ukraine (8 points) and Georgia (10 points).

From 13 countries Conchita got the highest points: Belgium, Finland, Greece, Irland, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain and the UK she received 12 points. In total of 290 points made her winning the 59. Eurovision Song Contest. This means that the 60th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Austria. It is the second victory for Austria in the Eurovision history after 48 years as Udo Jürgens won in Luxembourg with 'Merci Chéri'. 

Her acceptance speach: 
'This night is dedicated to everyone who believes in a future of peace and freedom. You know who you are. We are unity. And we are unstoppable.' 


2nd came The Common Linnets from the Netherlands with their 'Calm After The Storm' ahead of Sanna Nielsen from Sweden with 'Undo'
