Romania: National final on 6th March 2016!

TVR, Romanian broadcaster, announced yesterday details for their national selection. It will be possible to submit a song between today and 7th February 2016. Their will be two live show to find the representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

In the last weeks it was rumoured that Romania will chose this year internally the Eurovision artist. It was also rumoured that Mihai Traistariu could be chosen internally to return to the Eurovision stage. Mihai already represented Romania in Athens 2006 with the song "Tornero". Very successful he ended on 4th place in the Eurovision final with 172 points.

It's not a secret that Mihai is high motivated to return to Eurovision. Two years ago he already tried to make it to the national selection with the song "I'm Sorry", but failed to qualify for the pre-selection. This year he will submit his new song "Paradisio" for the Romanian national selection.

On 25th January 2016 he will premiere "Paradisio" on his youtube chanel. Stay tuned..

• 18.01. - 07.02.2016: Song Submission
• 04.03.2016: Semi-Final
• 06.03.2016: National Final

Voltaj represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna with the song "De la capăt / All Over Again". They ended on 15th place in the Eurovision final.

The winner of the Romanian natioal selection will be honoured to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. Who will participate in one of the Semi-Finals on 10th or 12th May 2016 in Sweden?
