ORF, Austrian broadcaster, announced the first nine candidates for the national final of "Wer singt für Österreich?" on 12th January 2016. One more candidate were found out of five with a online wildcard selection. ORF confirmed AzRaH as "Wildcard". Here are all the Austrian hopefuls:

The Makemakes won "Wer singt für Österreich" this year and represented their country in Vienna at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest with the song "I am Yours". Together with German contestant Ann Sophie they came last with 0 points.
The winner of "Wer singt für Österreich?" will be honoured to represent Austria in Sweden. Who will participate in one of the Semi-Finals on 10th or 12th May 2016 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm?
