Some of the musicians are known from previous years. One of them is Ira Losco, who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "7th Wonder". Her song ended on 2nd place in the Eurovision final, very close behind the winner - Marie N ("I Wanna") - by missing only six points.

- 23.01.2016 - National Final
Amber represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna with her song "Warrior", but failed to qualify to the Eurovision final. Some days ago she released her brand new song called "What The Say".
The winner of "MESC 2016" will be honoured to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Sweden. Who will participate in one of the Semi-Finals on 10th or 12th of May 2016 in Stockholm? Stay tuned..
