Xaivier Naidoo will participate in the Eurovision final on 14th of May 2016 in Sweden. The song isn't known yet. On 18th of February their will be the German national final "Unser Song für Xavier" ("Our song for Xavier"). The audience will chose their favorite song out of six.
"Xavier Naidoo is an exceptional artist, who has been well-known in the German music business for more than 20 years. This is why we decided to directly select him. The fact that Xavier has agreed to represent Germany in Stockholm is, at the same time, an obligation for us to create the best possible conditions for his performance. For that reason we have changed the selection procedure this year: We ask Germany's best producers and composers to write for Xavier. And by cooperating with students of film and art academia, we want to encourage young and creative people to develop staging and performance concepts for the Eurovision Song Contest. The success of Lena, Loreen and Måns Zelmerlöw have shown that not only the personality of the singers and the power of the songs play a key role in the voting but also the staging of the acts. I am happy about Xavier's commitment and courage to take part in this and about his trust in us. Who is Xavier Naidoo?
Xavier Naidoo sold more than six million records and had six #1 album and three #1 singles in Germany. He started as backing singer from Sabrina Setlur ("Frei sein") before he recorded his first German solo album "Nicht von dieser Welt" in 1998. The album is with over 1 million copies one of the most sold album in Germany since 1975. He reached a lot of gold and platinum records in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Besides his solo carrer he is also member of the band Söhne Mannheims. In 2011 and 2012 he was one of the coaches in The Voice of Germany.
2012 he participated in the Bundesvision Song Contest with Kool Savas as XAVAS for Baden-Württemberg with the song "Schau nicht mehr zurück" and they won the competition.

2006 he recorded the official FIFA World Cup song "Dieser Weg" for the German national team, which was one of the most played songs in that year.

The best German composers and producers have been asked to submit their songs. It's open if Xavier sing a song in German or English. Six potential Eurovision entries will be picked up by a jury of music experts on 15th December 2015.
