Music Awards for Emma Marrone and Marco Mengoni



Emma Marrone represented Italy in Copenhagen this year and Marco Mengoni took the stage for Italy last year. Now both artists were awarded with the Italian Music Award. This Award recognizes Italian artist whose singles or album achieved gold, platin or double-platin status during the past 12 month.
Emma won the ninth edition of the Castingshow 'Amici die Maria De Fillippi' in 2010. Her debut album 'Oltre' included 7 tracks. The album itself and the debut single 'Calore' came on first place in the Italian Charts. Later the album achieved double-platin album. 2011 she came 2nd with the song 'Arriverà' in the San Remo festival in a duett with the band Modá. 2012 she won it. The Italian broadcaster RAI chose Emma to represent Italy 2014 with her song 'La mia città' and here you can see her performance - which in the end came 21st - in the grand final in Copenhagen:

Marco Mangoni also won a castingshow. In the third version of X-Factor he came on top. His final song 'Dove si vola' came on top in the Italian charts directly after his win. 2010 he finished the San Remo Festival at the bronce place with his song 'Credimi ancora'. His second album 'Re matto' came twice on the first place in the charts - short after its release and a half year later as a live-version. 2010 he was also awarded as the Man of the year from TRL. At the MTV Music Award he was nominated as one in the category "Best Italian Artist". He not only won in the national combat but were also awarded as the "Best European Act". 2013 he won the San Rema Festival and therefore represented Italy with his song 'L'essenziale' at the ESC 2013 on the other side of the Oeresund in Malmö, where he came 7th.
