Lithuania: 28 candidates for "Eurovizija 2016"


The long way for the Lithuanian national selection "Eurovizija 2016" starts next Saturday, 9th January 2016. As in the last years the Lithuanian broadcaster LRT decided 9 shows to select their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The shows will be hosted by Andrius Rožickas and Gerūta Griniūte. In total there are 28 musicians in the battle to win the ticket for Sweden.

One of the candidates is Donatas  Montvydas, better known under his international stage name Donny Montell. He represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku with the song "Love Is Blind". Do you remember his Eurovision entry?

Monika Linkyte and Vaidas Baumila represented Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna with the song "This Time". Monika & Vaidas ended on 18th place in the Eurovision final.

Georgia: GPB confirmed Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz


GPB (Georgian Public Broadcaster) has chosen internally the representatives for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz will represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm in one of the Semi-Finals on 10th or 12th of May 2016.

The Young Georgian Lolitaz are known as indie rock band. Band members are Gia Iashvili (Vocals, Bass), Nick Dvitashvili (Guitar, Keyboard) and Dima Ogenesian (Drums).

For composers it's possible to send songs to the Georgian broadcaster till 8th January 2016. Internally they will chose five songs. Those five songs will be presented to the audience. The winning song will be selected by the audience and a expert jury.

Iceland: RUV announced 12 candidates and songs for "Söngvakeppnin 2016"


RUV, broadcaster from Iceland, announced the 12 finalists and their songs for "Söngvakeppnin 2016". The national selection includes two Semi-Finals and the national final, which wil be on 20th February 2016.

In each Semi-Final six acts will perform to get one of three tickets to the final. All songs must be performed in Icelandic. In total seven acts (one of them will be a "Wildcard" chosen by a jury) will fight for the ticket to Stockholm in the national final on 20th of February 2016.

Maria Olafs represented Iceland at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest this year in Vienna with the song "Unbroken", but she faidl to qualiy to the Eurovision final.

Hungary will select their artist for Stockholm with the national selection "A Dal 2016". 30 contestants are in the battle to get the ticket to represent Hungary at the 61st Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Sweden. Now you can listen to all the entries.

Some of the artists are already known from former national selections. Ív, Bálint Gájer, Passed, Reni Tolvai and András Kállay-Saunders, who represented Hungary in Copenhagen 2014 with the song "Running". Now he is back with the Kállay Saunders Band and the song "Who We Are".

Spain: TVE announced six candidates for national selection 2016


TVE, Spanish broadcaster, announced some days ago six contestants for their national selection 2016. The winner will be chosen in a public tv show.

One of them is Maria Isabel, who won the "Junio Eurovision Song Contest 2004" with the song "Antes muerta que sencilla". Do you remember her entry?

Edurne was chosen internally to represent Spain in Vienna at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with "Amanecer". Her entry ended on a dissapointing 20th place in the Eurovision final.


The winner of the Spanish national selection will perform on 14th of May 2016 in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.

Slovenia: "EMA" final on 27th of February 2016!

RTVSLO, Slovenian broadcaster, announced today ten acts for their national selection "EMA 2016". The national final of "EMA 2016" will be on 27th of February 2016.

In total ten contestants will perform their possible Eurovision entry. These are the hopefuls:

  • D Base
  • ManuElla
  • Nuša Derenda
  • Raiven
  • Regina
  • SAN Di EGO
  • Sebastijan Lukovnjak

The contestants were chosen by an expert jury:

In 2015 won Maraaya the "EMA" final with the song "Here For You". Maraaya ended on 14th place in the Eurovision final with 39 points.


The winner of "EMA 2016" will represent Slovenia in one of the Semi-Finals on 10th or 12th of May 2016 at the Eurovision Song Contest. Who do you want to represent Slovenia in Stockholm?

Germany: "Unser Lied für Stockholm" on 25th of February!


NDR, German broadcaster, announced today how they will find the contestant for Stockholm. In November 2015 they confirmed that Xavier Naidoo was chosen internally to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. Only some days later he was withdrawn after the media shit storm about his nomination.

In the last weeks a lot of rumours were in the internet about the new concept and especially the possible acts for the German national selection.

Today confirmed NDR that the German national final will be on 25th of February 2016 in Cologne. The show will be titled "Unser Lied für Stockholm" (Our song for Stockholm).

2015 won Andreas Kümmert the national selection, but on stage he said "NO" to Eurovision and gave his ticket for Vienna to second placed Ann Sophie. Her song "Black Smoke" ended on last place in the Eurovision final with dissapointing zero points.


The winner of "Unser Lied für Stockholm" will represent Germany in the Grand Final of the 61st Eurovision Song Contest on 14th of May 2016 in Stockholm. Who will represent Germany in Sweden?

Eurovision in Concert 2016: Tickets on sale now!


This years Eurovision in Concert will take place on 9th of April 2016 in Amsterdam. It's the biggest promotion event for the Eurovision Song Contest participants before the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will take place in May in Stockholm. A lot of acts are using this event a chance to meet other contestants, to promote their songs and of course, to feel the special Eurovision atmosphere.

In the next weeks a lot of more Eurovision 2016 contestants will be announced.. In 2014 a record of 25 Eurovision joined the sold out event in Amsterdam. Will they top this in 2016?
